Anime subtitles? Manga? Yeah. I learn a lot of English through anime subtitles or manga’s english translation. And the reason i have a courage and bold enough to write and communicate with English is thanks to a long time spending of mind to observeand learn how the word is being used, expressed and phrased.
I know people bothering said that anime is a mere entertainment and it’s wasting time just to spend for watching it. But how about we seize the time’s oppurtinity and utilize anything we can so we could create the entertainment as a learning stuff momment? This is what i do and this is i could prove.
And i will never ever said the momment i spend for anime is a vain and worthless, for overall, except the boring, letdown or trashy anime or manga. Let me tell you. If someone have a attentive look on anime’s subtitle or manga, you’ll find out how scrupulous our subtitler is.
If you’re watching an anime which the background story is about Middle-age war, you barely can find the word “government”, “Commander-in-chief”, “base”, “stop” and more word that prone to modern usage, but instead you’ll find “kingdom”, “Great Holy Knight”, “stronghold”, “halt” and more classical word fitted to the background story. Another example is if the anime is on the scene of reading sacred text or holy book or old law enactment, you may see the word “thou”, “thee”, “thy”, “ye”, “shalt”, “wilt”, “forsake” or “lest” rather “you”, “your”, “should”. “will” or “leave”.
This a little example of how plentiful vocabulary and english learning in the anime’s subtitle. If the subtitler don’t match the usage word appropriated to the background or scene, then he or she is an inept one. But usually, they never let us down.
What i do wanna said is take an opportunity or create it so the dawdled stuff can be a valubale time to spend. Don’t stop learning even for a day
