The thing i believe it’s important after looking through more profound, but not been taught in school in English and this what i keep reminding to my junior is you don’t need a “bombastic” or “powerful blast” word to make you a cool and good English speaker. Just muster the phrasal verb and idiom, then you are in one step to the innate speech of a native speaker. Those things are the people’s preferential for most of the time than the normal expression as what we grasp in formal dictionary. For instance, “He turn down my request” is more preferable than “He reject my request”. Another example is “Don’t beat the bush around!” is more preferable than “state it directly!”. More example is “I will hack / wipe the smile / grin off your face” is more preferable than “I will not let you to make a happy face again”.

See? It’s simply for you to grasp the phrasal verb and idiom as much as possible. I don’t know if it’s the right word to say “be creative”, but definitely the “bombastic” or “powerful blast” word isn’t necessary for you to though that is worth to seize it. Then, it’s important for you to have not just bilingual dictionary, you also should have the specific dictionary that providing more Idiom and Phrasal Verb. And don’t forget the proverbs. Sometimes the categorical of phrasal verb, idioms and proverbs of some words seem like overlapping which mean you shouldn’t slacking off to do more work.

One more thing that you shouldn’t forget is don’t just feel content with formal dictionary, refer also to the online Urban Dictionary (literally google it!) because some word is used not to be exact as the formal dictionary. Sometimes the word is becoming expand to another meaning. For instance, “invisible man” means someone that you can’t see it by naked eyes. That’s what the formal definition explain. But if you referring to the Urban Dictionary, invisible man means unbeatable man and can’t be harmed. This is what the people used when they say “invisible” (to be exact, in action’s genre anime). This is also for “unreal” word.

I do know i’m still have more words to learn and discover despite i’m sharing to you as i’m an expertise (i’m not!). I’m just sharing to you for what i’ve got from a certain time of observation That is the reason why this is my goal for 2019. Enhance my strength to this area and accustom and augmenting more of these words into speech and writing
